Lucy and her husband, Ricky Ricardo, are living in the country with their best friends and old landlords, Fred and Ethel Mertz. Lucy is still getting into trouble with her sidekick Ethel, but in this sequel there is a famous guest star in each episode for her to bug.

Lucy and Vivian are a pair of single parents living at Lucy's house. Lucy's daughter Chris goes out on a date with Alan Harper, a 16-year-old boy attending prep school. Chris feels her mother ruined the date by waiting up and running out to the car when the couple returned. No mischief could have occurred -- Alan's parents were in the backseat because they attended the same movie as the young couple. Nevertheless, Alan asks Chris for a second date and this time Lucy promises not to wait up for Chris. At the end of date number two, Lucy leaves the house rather than appear to be waiting up. However, she gets locked out.

The ABC Comedy Hour is an American television variety series that aired on ABC in 1972. Seven of the 13 episodes featured a guest host and a team of comedy impressionists known as The Kopycats. Guest hosts included Steve Lawrence, Orson Welles, Ed Sullivan, Raymond Burr, Robert Young, Debbie Reynolds and Tony Curtis. The remaining six episodes were variety specials and included two Friars Club roasts and a revival of the musical Hellzapoppin' starring Jack Cassidy.The show originally aired on Wednesday at 8:30 PM. Summer reruns of the seven Kopycats episodes were aired under the title The ABC Comedy Hour Presents the Kopycats. The same episodes aired in Great Britain simply as The Kopycats.
